Kalyani Alstom Power Limited (KAPL) for Mechanical Engg


Kalyani Alstom Power Limited (KAPL) is one of a joint venture company of the world’s largest forging giant – Bharat Forge Limited and French Global Power Systems Manufacturer – Alstom. KAPL has emerged out of the diversification scheme of Kalyani Group company - Bharat Forge Limited, under the umbrella of its newly come up division namely – Capital Good Division, based out at Noida, and headed by    Mr. Sunil Kumar Chaturvedi who is an Executive Director on board and Chief Operating Officer.

BFL is on a threshold of breakout growth in capital goods. Capital goods industry is having significant demand growth but facing a lot of constraints on the supply side. More about KAPL – Activities and Orders
The company would be involved in the production of an entire range of heat exchangers (tube type), heaters, condensers and Deaerator for thermal power plant and in due course have plans to manufacture the same for nuclear as well. The project worth is of 600 crores, and the manpower would be 600 employees.   The company would be coming up with its State-Of-The-Art fabrication/machine shop (manufacturing facility) at Mundra in Gujarat and plans to invest Rs. 500/- Crores for this project. Products will be –

(a)   Condensers Manufacturing

(b)   Heaters Manufacturing

(c)    Deaerators & Storage Tank Manufacturing

Bharat Forge – Alstom joint venture has won 5 out of 11 NTPC-Bulk Tenders- for its upcoming supercritical power projects in Bihar and UP, by emerging as lowest bidders in T&G sets category , leaving BHEL as the second lowest bidder and Toshiba-JSW the third lowest bidder.

Each boiler and turbine generator set is capable of generating 660 Mw of power. Out of the 11 units solicited under the tender, nine units are for NTPC and the remaining two units will be used by Damodar Valley Corporation, which had clubbed its requirement in the NTPC tender.

One of the pre-requisites to bid for the bulk tender was that the company or JV must have an indigenous manufacturing base. Bharat Forge and Alstom joint venture are coming up with its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Mundra-Gujarat, for which the stone laying ceremony was carried out on 4th December’2009, which was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of the state Shri. Narendra Modi.

Criteria:

   1. They will be taking interview of only those candidates who have secured 65% marks throughout   (10th, 12th & B.Tech).
   2. The Panel would comprise of 5-6 Interviewers.
   3. The package that would be offered to the students would be around 3.5-3.85L.
   4. They will be posted to Mundra, Gujarat and likely there will be a Bond for 3 years.

They would be required to submit the attached forms duly filled and filed along with the copy of the following documents:
a)    Tenth, twelfth marksheets and pass certificates.

b)    B. Tech/PGD/Diploma etc. all year marksheet

c)    Summary of their Project Report

d)    Experience certificate if any

e)    1 photo attached in the general Information Form, appended herewith


All eligible students to meet Training and Placement Officer by 23rd Feb Maximum as  they need to fill a print of the attached forms and fill the same, before appearing for the interview.
